Paint and plaster removal
DYNAJET’s high-pressure cleaners can remove individual layers of paint and even coatings containing oil – comprehensively and without the use of chemicals, using nothing more than water at up to 95°C. However, if the façade has already sustained damage such as cracks, holes or crumbling plaster, it needs to be removed and the substrate prepared ready for new plaster. DYNAJET high-pressure water units also work without chemicals in these scenarios to thoroughly and quickly remove existing plaster using only pure water under high pressure. This gives the substrate perfect adhesion properties so that the new plaster and coating adhere securely and permanently.
Waste water resulting from paint and plaster removal may contain pollutants that must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. These must be properly extracted so that they do not enter the sewage system or the soil. For this reason, façades should only be cleaned by qualified experts.
Preparing brick façades for renovation
Brick façades are weather-resistant and last for decades. Even so, brick façades can still suffer damage. It is usually the mortar in the joints that is most vulnerable. This becomes loose and crumbly through environmental influences and age.
This old and loose mortar must first be thoroughly removed before applying the new mortar layer. Traditionally, joints are scraped out. This is time-consuming and expensive, though. Water power can quickly and easily remove mortar from the joint. Dust and loose material are flushed out at the same time so the new mortar can be applied immediately.
Older brick façade buildings are often plastered over, hiding its beautiful, authentic look. DYNAJET high-pressure cleaners can also quickly and gently remove this plaster, revealing the original brick façade.
