Extend the life of your high-pressure cleaning gun
Expert knowledge high-pressure expertise
You can extend the life of your high-pressure cleaning gun by using the trigger less. The more often this is used, the quicker it wears out. A solution is to work quickly with the trigger constantly pulled instead of stop-start working.
Wear and tear in your high-pressure cleaning gun
The high-pressure gun is, so to speak, the “hammer head” of your high-pressure cleaner. In other words, it is exposed to the most forces, both inside and out. However, contrary to popular assumption, its service life is not influenced by the number of hours spent working at high pressure. It is the number of times the pistol gun trigger is pressed and released. The more often this is done, the quicker it wears out, as the pressure has to be built up and released over and over again.
You also reduce wear in the switching valve (also known as the unloader) by using the trigger less and increase productivity by working without interruptions.
Check wear parts
You very rarely need to replace the entire high-pressure gun. Usually, the O-rings and seals take the most stress. Regularly check the seal sets and replace them if necessary. The swivel joints are also wear parts, so check these too.
Always clean any dirt off the pressure gun after use. Keep wear part spares for on-site to avoid inconvenient work interruptions.
These little tips will give your high-pressure gun a longer life and mean trouble-free servicing.
